Welcome To
The Bright Side...

I bet you look awesome with your new vivid hair and I want you to KEEP looking awesome.

So! I've gathered all my best advice for keeping vivid and pastel colors looking fresh for as long as possible.

It may seem like a lot of work in the beginning but once you get your new routine down it will be a piece of cake! (a piece of beautiful pinterest perfect cake that is!

WAIT

After getting your color done, wait at least 48 hours (but longer if you can) before washing. This will allow your hair cuticle to completely close and the color molecules to adhere to your hair!

COLD WATER

This is a tough one but try to only wash your hair in cold water and try to go as long as possible in between washes. Hot water opens the cuticle of your hair right up which makes it much easier for color to fall out.

DRY SHAMPOO

Now that you are only using cold water to wash your hair, you probably don't even want to wash it at all. Don't worry, you can still look cute by using dry shampoo in between washes. Dry shampoo absorbs the excess oil at your scalp. Once you brush it out, it leaves you looking fresh and way less greasy.

COLOR CARE

Be sure you are using shampoo, conditioner and styling products that are intended to care for color, recommended by your stylist. No drug store or amazon products! These are often diluted, diverted or expired products.

DARK LINENS

Dark towels, dark pillow cases, and if your hair is extra vivid you may want to avoid lighter tops until you've washed your hair a few times. (Unless you're cool with everything being the same color as your hair!)

HEAT PROTECTANT

Again, heat opens your hair cuticle up, so you want to be using a heat protectant when blowdrying, while using hot tools, and even if you are going to be in the sun or hot yoga. Air dry when you can!
